Report on Burma – Amy Doffegnies

I have been working on a report for a development project of Eastern Burma with colleagues. The report identifies the complete picture of the experiences of the local residents in Karen State, Burma, in previous years according to research conducted by researchers. The report also includes the consequences, suffered by the residents, from activities such as gold digging, dam construction, and expansion of arable lands and appropriation of natural resources. The flood caused by the dam is an example. The flood claimed destruction of paddy fields and evacuation from the damaged homes, so the residents have been experiencing difficult times in finding employment and daily consumption of food. The report also includes the biggest problem as water pollution caused by mining. It threatens the health of the residents who rely on rivers.
